Impact of grating delay and reflectivity ripple in optical systems

摘要：
The impact of Group Delay Ripple (GDR) and Reflectivity Ripple (RR) in Chirped Bragg Fibre Grating (CBFG) dispersion compensators is studied using a system simulation which calculates the Eye Closure Penalty due to GDR and RR. Using this model system penalties due to the inter-action of random and systematic ripple with transmitter chirp, and bit rate, are studied for optical systems with multiple concatenated gratings.
