A study of shape repository to support design knowledge reusing

摘要：
The design knowledge representation is a pivot issue to design reuse, and to the establishment of a knowledge-based design environment. This paper provides a method to represent the CAD models using Group Technology methodology. The new representation gives the schema to depict the geometric model of parts using digits list incorporating with a standard Optiz code. This investigation shows that it is feasible to support shape knowledge extracting, reusing, and accumulating through the use of shape repository method, which we are currently studying at. And more, the future work about this study is also pointed out.
