Optimization of Thinned Elliptical Antenna Arrays Using Particle Swarm Optimization

摘要
Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is applied to the thinning of elliptical antenna arrays of uniformly excited isotropic antennas which can generate directive beam with minimum relative side lobe level (SLL). Thinning of elliptical antenna arrays using PSO are optimized with different values of eccentridty in all the cases and variation of side lobe level with eccentricity of thinned antenna array is also reported. It is found that changing eccentricity reduced values of side lobe level can be obtained.
