摘要：

Fossilization is frequently seen in second language acquisition (SLA). The systematic study of fossilization has great significance for the explanation of the internal process of language acquisition. Based on the relevant theories of psycholinguistics, cognitive linguistics and SLA, this paper takes a tentative approach to the occurrence of fossilization. This paper especially delves into the causes of fossilization from a cognitive perspective, and offers some suggestions for preventing fossilization in SLA.
