摘要
This paper investigates the coordination process in Malaysian construction industry Selected articles have been reviewed from the well-known academic journals and research in construction projects management. The selected articles and research were classified based on the consideration of coordination; as the core issue of the study or appeared in the study results as a main factor. The aim of this paper is to review critically the literature of construction industry in Malaysia for addressing the knowledge gap and presenting a research agenda in the context of construction projects coordination. The main findings from this critical review are: (1) Malaysian construction industry suffers low performance as a result of lack or insufficient coordination; (2) further research should focus on coordination issue as a core of the research; and (3) coordination is one of the critical success factors of construction project in Malaysia, and affect its performance in term of cost and time overrun. Finally, coordination process still in infancy stage in construction projects in Malaysia and need more research to reap its dividends, through coordination factors and procedures investigation using modem artificial intelligent modeling techniques, in order to develop and upgrade construction industry performance.
