摘要
The spectrum is the most crucial resource in today's world of modern wireless communication. The most of the spectrum under licensed category have already been allocated for licensed users. Therefore the remaining unlicensed bands are of high demand. One of such unlicensed industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) band falls under Personal Area Networking services governed by the standard IEEE802.15.4. This standard mainly features the three different frequency bands 868 MHz, 915 MHz and 2450 MHz for physical layer implementation supporting varied data rate with different digital modulation techniques. It is necessary to have a reprogrammable multi band/multi modem transceiver in order to support both regional and global frequency bands usage with a one product. The objective of this work is to develop different bands usage by one single product. Hence this paper focuses on designing of reconfigurable modem covering BPSK and O-QPSK for four different bit rates 20 kb/s, 40 kb/s, 100 kb/s and 250 kb/s, which can be ported on to hardware to a build a communication system for 3 various bands of IEEE802.15.4. The reconfigurable feature of Software Defined Radio (SDR) was exploited for design of programmable modem using Matlab/Simulink tool.
