摘要
An axiological component of theory and methodology, (with definite intent of issuing judgements about value, through the evaluating process), the assessment can be defined, at a first sight, according to its capacity of dealing with cognitive, emotional and behavioural areas, as a complex process, a threshold between reporting the contribution of each process, (in order to give an explication of the results), and the feedback function; and much more, as a cornerstone in the area of communication and gathering information, being also important for the improvement, optimization and quick, effective intervention within the learning process. These would be some of the features, hallmarks and priorities, that make Theory and Methodology of Evaluation, though a recent pedagogical branch, but with its own history and methodology and also with areas of competence that need to be explored.
