3D rigid visco-plastic FE modelling of the rolling process of ribbed strip

摘要
The main feature of the rolling of ribbed strip is the local residual deformation. In this paper, the authors use a 3D 'slightly- compressible' rigid visco-plastic finite element method and the model of friction variation, to analyse the continuous hot rolling of ribbed strip. The relationship between the rib height, elongation, spread and reductions are obtained, the distribution of rib height along the width of strip is nonuniform, and the calculated results are close to the measured values. The velocity field of metal flow in the roll bite is also obtained in this paper. The results of the simulation show that this method is applicable and effective in the modelling of the continuous rolling of ribbed strip.
