Unusual Urethral F18-FDG Accumulation on PET/CT

摘要：
Normal physiological variants of F-18 fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) distribution and benign findings on whole-body FDG PET scans are well described in the medical literature. In this report, an 82-year-old man presented with laryngeal cancer and an unusual variant of urinary FDG activity in the prostatic urethra. Beside the FDG uptake in the laryngeal mass and neck lymph nodes, PET/CT images demonstrate FDG accumulation in the prostatic urethra because of the dilatation of this part of the urethra, possibly because of previous open prostatectomy.
