Modeling of ballast behaviour in railway track

摘要
The numerical modeling of the ballast behaviour under repeated dynamic loading is presented. First, global and local effects due to the 3D geometry of the problem and due to the irreversibility of the ballast behaviour, are uncoupled through the use of two softwares with complementary wave propagation approaches. Then, applying locally the loading (evaluated with the 3D model) due to the train on a railway section, the irreversible behaviour of the ballast after almost seven months of trafic is simulated, assuming that the damage can be represented by the evolution of friction angle with energy.
