Activities in the area of governance in the hotel sector with a focus on hygiene and safety

The main stream of the hotel business is defined by the workers who execute their activities. This kind of business depends on these workers to survive in the business world. The professional of the hotel business area deals directly to people and his primordial responsibility is to satisfy the guests needs. To do that he must have the knowledge for doing his activities. The degree of risk to the hotel activity is achieved through use of the CNAE in Table I of the Norm n o 4 - NR- 4, which indicates that the degree is equal to 2 (Annex 3). Among the professionals involved in the hospitality industry, governance is the sector that is closest to the customers, being responsible for the arrangement of rooms, therefore is mainly ensure the comfort and well being of guests. The task of cleaning and tidying of the rooms consists of various activities conducted with responsibilities, using equipment which are overseen by the head of governance. This function requires muscle strength. By being in touch with the innermost of the guests, bring a psychological dimension of feeling of distrust. This study was designed a hotel in Camboriu, Santa Catarina, conducted by a team of currently 14 (fourteen) maids, aged between 25 and 40 years, of which 50% have completed the first level. Working hours are 8: 00 am to 16: 20 pm, with an interval of 01 hours for almoco.Com carrying out on-site observation, interview, indicated the development of educational materials for use in employee training compound by Standard Operating Procedures, information on the use of Personal Protective Equipment and Collective Protection, elucidation of the chemical composition. It was also proposed to conduct lectures on firefighting, postural orientation, gymnastics and the creation of a program to develop employees' involvement with their families, promoting awareness of all stakeholders within and outside the company, the questions of Health, Environment and Safety.
