摘要
Austenitic stainless steels are largely used in cosmetic industry and other industries. The biocompatibility and corrosion resistance of these materials are primarily determined by their constituent material and surface microstructural properties such as surface roughness, grain size, etc. The surface roughness and iron oxide layer thickness increase with increasing roughness severity, and the chromium oxide layer co-exists with the iron oxide layer. However, the use of stainless steel type 316L has been relegated to tanks, pipes, mixers, etc. This paper presents the effect of passivation and temperature on the electrochemical parameters and surface microgeometry of stainless steels type 316L in medium of hair shampoo, establishing the durability of passive layer.
