At present, the current situation and existing problems of rural drinking water source law were analyzed, legislature should attach great importance to rural drinking water source legislation. Laws related to rural drinking water source,mainly include constitution, the environmental protection law, water law, law of the prevention and control of water pollution, law of prevention and control of environmental pollution by solid wastes,law of water and soil conservation. Water law and law of the prevention and control of water pollution provide a more detailed legal provisions for rural drinking water source protection, especially water source protection zone system.The contents of the environmental protection law are out of touch with reality,it is necessary to modift and increase content related to sources of drinking watenLaw of prevention and control of environmental pollution by solid wastes provides water conservation from water environment pollution by solid wastes, law of water and soil conservation provides water conservation from ecological envi-ronmentLegal articles related to drinking water source,is applicable to urban drinking water source protec-tion,but basically is not suitable for rural drinking water source protection, legislature should increase some contents of rural drinking water source protection in the process of law modification in the future.
