摘要：

The paper aims to measure investors' demand for dividends in Thailand and to examine whether the demand for dividends can be linked link to firms' decisions to pay dividends. Positive dividend premiums show that investors in Thailand exhibit a preference for dividends, even though dividend incomes can be taxed more heavily than capital gains in Thailand. After controlling for the effect of the 1997 Asian Crisis, there is the evidence to support the catering theory of dividends.
