Review of recent developments in in situ seismic testing

摘要：
Recent developments in borehole and surface wave in situ test methods are reviewed using five papers contributed to the Symposium on Pre-Failure Deformation Properties of Geomaterials held in Torino, Italy in September 1999. Two papers describe innovative new borehole techniques that are capable of measuring shear modulus and material damping ratio at small to intermediate strain levels and relationships between the small-strain shear modulus and the state of effective stress. Three papers describe advances in surface wave test methods including the application of time-frequency signal processing methods for dispersion calculations and a simple, efficient method of accounting for multi-mode surface wave propagation in inversion analyses.
