The possibility of using an existing method (a search over a non-uniform grid) to find a global extremum of a function is considered for problems of discrete optimization of special form. An iterative procedure for the staged construction of non-uniform coverings is proposed, and its efficiency is improved by using information on the stability of the solution of a discrete extremal problem.
