Andre Breton under the Franco dictatorship: institutional censorship and translation of Entretiens (1952)

The purpose of this article is to analyze the institutional censorship of the Spanish translation of Andre Breton's Entretiens (1952) from the moment that Barral asked permission to release the book in Spain until this publishing house obtained it. After a short contextualization of the original and its translation, the article focuses on the study of its censorship files, which will allow us to discover the Francoist reaction facing the possibility of publishing his text, and to know the censors' identity, their comments as well as their decisions so that the book could be published in Spain.
