摘要
This paper proposes a new method of optimizing Antenna design using Genetic Algorithm. Use of genetic algorithm accelerates the process of simulation and can also conceptualize designs unattainable by manual approaches. The proposed antenna has a 50 Omega feed line impedance, operates in the frequency range 3.1 GHz to 9 GHz. The radiating surface or the patch is treated as an arrangement of individual cells, 2500 individual cells in total, in a 50 x 50 array which at a given time, may or may not be radiating. Antenna parameters for dimensions of the patch, radiation pattern, S-Parameters were calculated experimentally to produce agreeable results.
