Exploratory study on Bullying in Romanian high-schools

摘要
This empirical study included the results of a survey made on 1100 students, belonging to 35 Romanian high-schools. The data collection was based on a questionnaire exploring verbal, non-verbal and physical bullying in the case of three types of interpersonal relationships. We analyzed the frequency of the main forms of bullying, as well as, the impact of some socio-demographical variables like gender, age, high-schools' size. The results confirmed previous international findings: physical bullying was more frequent among boys while girls reported non-physical bullying; the other variables had an insignificant impact at this age. In addition, we noticed a high incidence of bullying in the Romanian schools, as well as, a lack of specific intervention programs.
