Segmentation of MR images for 3D volume reconstruction

摘要
Three-dimensional imaging has become so advanced that image fidelity is sufficient for its clinical use. In order to make a 3D image from 2D medical images, we must apply an efficient segmentation process to 2D images beforehand. Depending on the part of the anatomy to isolate/segment and the given image, several segmentation methods are suitable. Moreover, in most cases, no one method gives perfect results, so we need to adapt these techniques to our needs by using hybrid techniques. We utilised several segmentation techniques to segmentate MR images in order to make 3D volume reconstructions. Finally, among all the applied techniques, Snakes was the method with the best results. This system has improved the way in which we visualise and examine these radiological images.
