Introduction to the special issue: 2015

The Special Issue of Journal of Coating Technology 2015 presents papers from the 17th biennial International Coating Science and Technology (ISCST) Symposium which was held in San Diego on September 7-10, 2014. The ISCST biennial symposia are the world's premier forums for presenting advances in the understanding of the physics of wetting, the fundamentals of coating flows and subsequent solidification and microstructure development and the process technology needed for implementing these in industry. These papers examine fundamental aspects of coating science and technology to help understand the processes associated with the deposition of wet coatings to solid substrates for a variety of applications.
