摘要
Multibody dynamic models used in real-time simulation applications are limited in detail and fidelity by strict timing requirements. Current models meet real-time requirements during worst case timing conditions and operate inefficiently otherwise. This paper discusses an idea that exploits the inefficiencies to increase fidelity and resolution in models at run-time. The method is an extension of the computer graphic technique of adjusting detail of displayed objects or eliminating objects from the display. While yet untested, the method promises efficient solutions to the compromise between execution speed and model resolution/fidelity. A hypothetical model of a car is used to demonstrate the relevant modeling ideas and a discussion of possible implementation technique follows. This technique has not yet been implemented. No results are presented.
