Late-news paper: New low-cost high-yield MVA LCDs with a cost comparable to or lower than TN LCDs with new pixel design and new process equipment

摘要
With a super intrinsic fringe field controlled low-cost high-yield multi-domain vertical alignment (MVA) LCD pixel design and a new low-cost high-yield MVA fabrication system, we had obtained two major routes to manufacture low-cost high-performance high-yield MVA LCDs with a cost comparable to or lower than TN LCDs. For the medium large-size entry-level wide viewing angle LCD monitors and TV, the new MVA could offer a much better performance over the conventional wide viewing angle TN but with a cost even lower than TN. Detailed performance and cost comparison with TN and conventional MVA LCDs are summarized. This new MVA is highly competitive for all applications, such as low-end PDA and notebook PC, entry level and high-end WVA LCD TV and monitor applications.
