An integrated peer-to-peer data and service dissemination system

Data dissemination has emerged as an important technique for content distribution in broadcast networks. We present a novel peer-to-peer data dissemination system in which broadcasts include both content and associated service advertisements. The advantages of this approach include the ability to provide dynamically customizable data delivery based on the current set of peers, as well as provide related services. We describe the integration of service dissemination into the Peer-to-Peer Infostation, which was originally conceived as a data dissemination system. Several modes of integration are discussed and a prototype implementation is described.
