摘要
The digital transformation in the age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution has strong influence over different subsystems of the society implying the transformation of schools as formal learning environments. These transformations also have impact on the changing boundaries of the learning environments and underlines the rethinking of the learning aims, skills and competencies. The changes can become a reality only through the digital transition of the whole organization which means much more than improving the digital infrastructure the commitment of the management, the human resource training, the modernization of the learning content and the methodology are also a must. The aim of this study is to present the international experiences in measuring, assessing the digital maturity of the schools and to summarize the main characteristics (levels, indicators) of the most important frameworks and also to specify questions concerning the measurability of these factors. The continuous monitoring of the schools fosters the improvement of the digital skills of the citizens of the 21st century to be more confident in the use of the digital technology to level up their social engagement individually and in communities, as well.
