摘要
A hydrometallurgical process involving conversion of rare earths to hydroxides with sodium hydroxide, leaching of the hydroxides by hydrochloric acid, purification of pregnant liquor by selective precipitation and separation of rare earths chlorides by means of solvent extraction using D2EHPA in kerosene as an extractant is developed to recover rare earths (RE) from the spent optical glass containing lanthanum, yttrium and gadolinium. The influence of NaOH concentration, liquid to solid ratio, temperature and time on the conversion of products is investigated by means of an X-ray diffractometer and inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrophotometer. The dependence of the RE leaching ratio on HCl concentration, liquid to solid ratio, temperature and time is also examined. Subsequently, the effect of operating parameters in the extraction, scrubbing and stripping on the separation of rare earths is investigated as well. The results show that by using the integrated process, 99.95% pure individual lanthanum chloride solution containing 31.76 g/L La with total recovery of 93.58%, 98.65% pure individual yttrium chloride solution containing 11.45 g/L Y with total recovery of 97.59% and 95.18% pure individual gadolinium chloride solution containing 5.58 g/L Gd with total recovery of 93.61% are obtained.
