Characterisation of the polyketone fibre reinforced thermoplastic composites with different interfacial conditions

摘要
Polyketone fibre was treated with 3-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxy silane (MPS) and dodecyltrichlorosilane (DTS) to improve adhesion with polypropylene (PP). The polyketone fibre surface became hydrophilic and hydrophobic by the silane coupling agent treatments. The MPS treated polyketone fibre has better compatibility and shows higher interfacial adhesion strength in polyketone/PP composite than the DTS treated one. Optimum conditions of the silane coupling agent treatment were found to be 60 min of hydrolysis time and 3 wt% of MPS content in 100 ml acetic acid (pH 4.2).
