Fiber-optic extrinsic Fabry-Perot interferometer sensors with three-wavelength digital phase demodulation

摘要
A superluminescent diode based three-wavelength passive quadrature phase demodulation scheme which uses microcontroller based real time arctan - calculation has been developed for readout of fiber-optic EFPI - vibration, acoustic and strain sensors. Quasistatic strain and dynamic vibration sensing with up to 80 kHz sampling rate is demonstrated Nonlinearities in the %-range by dephasing of the nominally pi/2 phase shifted interference signals with increasing fringe number is corrected for with a suitable algorithm resulting in significant improvement of the phase - strain characteristic.
