摘要
Information commons belong to a pattern of highly integrated information services, suitable for modern people's needs for learning and communications. Information commons are very popular in foreign countries, especially in university libraries, while they just emerged in the last two years in China. The authors think that information commons can be used for searching information, learning, developing information literacy, promoting social recognition of libraries and promoting the development of knowledge cities. They recommend that libraries should transform themselves and development information commons.
