摘要
A new fracture toughness testing is analysed by a three-dimensional elastoplastic finite element method. This technique is used mainly on thin-walled tubing structures. It can generate relatively stable crack propagation even for brittle materials. From the load-displacement curve, it is possible to deduce the fracture toughness by using the proposed formulation. The influence of relevant parameters such as material properties, specimen geometry, friction effects etc. has been evaluated. The stability of results is also critically evaluated by numerical simulations. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
