TISSUE ENGINEERING-A NOVEL TECHNOLOGY IN STEM CELL THERAPY

摘要
Tissue regeneration is a process of restoring the tissue by transferring or delivering specific type of cells or cell products to injured tissue or organs. Stem cell therapy has drawn significant attention since transplantation of stem cells overcomes the limitations of autologous transplantation of patient's tissue. However it is not much useful for treating the diseases to overcome the problems associated with stem cells tissue engineering techniques have been developed. Tissue engineering substitutes are produced by developing tissue stem therapy with tissue engineering. These combinations intensify cell viability, differentiation and therapeutic efficacy of transplanted stem cells or organ functions. The stem cells that are used for tissue regeneration are mesenchymal stem cells, embryonic stem cells and induced pluripotent stem cells. Injured tissue exhibits low therapeutic efficacy and less regenerative activity is observed when injured tissue is transplanted with stem cells alone. In this review the therapeutic efficacy of stem cells is increased by using scaffolds biomaterials and techniques of tissue engineering.
