Thermal properties of lithium carbide and lithium-intercalated graphite

摘要
Lithium carbide and the graphite intercalation compounds C6Li, C12Li, and C20Li were studied by DTA in the temperature range 293-1000 K. Lithium carbide undergoes one phase transition at 725 +/- 5 K with an enthalpy of 5.56 +/- 0.09 kJ/mol. The enthalpies of the phase transitions in C6Li (711 +/- 5 K) and C12Li (472 +/- 5 K) were found to be 1.1 +/- 0.2 and 1.2 +/- 0.2 kJ/mol, respectively.
