摘要
The main objective of the project was to map the sawmill capacity in the given territory and clarin, questions concerning increasing the value of their final products because in the case of the small and medium-scale sawmills this is considered to be one of the conditions for their further existence and competitiveness. The sawmill industry has a long-term tradition in the Czech Republic. The wood processing industry has in the past undergone many changes; its development has significantly differed from development in the countries of Western Europe, and currently the restructuring of this segment is still in progress. Because of the fact that records of sawmills are non-existent, not even of their characteristics, own research was done, which took two years and more than 700 companies were contacted. Results were obtained from 195 companies. The companies were classified into five groups according to the milling capacity. Each sawmill group was processed separately and at the end, a mutual comparison of the groups was done.
