摘要
Many investigations have been done to improve sophisticated dressings to accelerate healing processes and decrease the infections in wound areas. This study evaluated the healing effect of ointment containing extract of milk oil and honey on wound in mice. Twelve mice were randomly assigned to two equal groups. Two circular incisions (8 mm) were made on the back of each mouse using a standard punch 8 mm. Incision wounds were dressed daily with ointment containing extract of milk oil and honey in group 1, dressing Vaseline oil in group 2 (control group). Treatment was evaluated by taking photos during the treatment on 0, 3, 7, 14 and 21 days. Histological analysis was done on the 14th and 21st days. The microscopic results demonstrated that considerable epithelization was observed in the ointment group and wound healing was significantly higher in treated mice with ointment. Maximal healing was noticed at the same time in ointment group and minimal repair was observed in the control group in macroscopic results. Results showed the greatest wound healing was in the ointment group. The ointment application promoted the healing and it may be a suitable substitute for dressing in wound healing.
