Resistance, resilience and struggles for the memory of violence. Journalists in Veracruz, Mexico

This article aims to: 1) make a general contextualization of the situation of journalists in the state of Veracruz, listed as the most dangerous for journalists in recent years; 2) describe the forms that symbolic violence has taken against murdered journalists, through unfavorable and revictimizing representations in media; and 3) make visible the forms of symbolic struggle that have been given by some critical journalists in the state and outside it, to contrast alternative versions to the dominant ones, claim their work, and show their resilience in a still unfavorable context. The article is a new reflection based on the results of previous investigation that used interviews, participant observation and analysis of journalistic articles.
