The integration and legal status of judges of constitutional courts in Latin America

This article analyzes from a comparative perspective the system of appointing judges comprising the constitutional courts of Latin America, by reviewing the number of judges; bodies engaged appointments; requirements for appointment; eventual integration with alternate judges, lawyers or members conjueces, the duration in office, total or partial renovations and the possible re-election of judges; regime disabilities and incompatibilities; ground for cessation in office.
