摘要
Hudsonian Godwit (Limosa haemastica) is a migratory shorebird with conservation problems. The aim of this study was to determine use sites of L. haemastica, through satellite monitoring, during non-reproductive season, in the Los Lagos Region, southern Chile. A list of sites identified as relevant for this species is provided, along with details of bird's movement between different marine and estuarine wetlands. A spatial database was developed, generated by seven satellite transmitters installed on individuals of L. haemastica. Of these, five were installed in November 2015 at Chullec marine wetland (42.47 degrees S; 73.53 degrees W), Chiloe. While the other two were installed in November 2020 at La Pasada wetland (41.60 degrees S; 73.59 degrees W), Maullin. The results indicated that L. haemastica uses different marine and estuarine wetlands in Los Lagos Region, both continental and insular. These movements showed a pattern of use that allows proposing a network of sites that connects continental and insular landscape. In total, 25 important sites for L. haemastica were identified in Los Lagos, from which nine are new records as conservation areas for this migratory shorebird.
