BRAVIKEN PM 53 - The fastest newsprint paper machine in the world

The design of the PM 53 at Holmen Paper in Braviken has been developed in close cooperation between Holmen Paper and Voith Sulzer Paper Technology over many years. The PM 53 is designed for a capacity of 270000 t/year of high-quality newsprint made of TMP and DIP. In Braviken, with the new paper machine a new standard has been set in the manufacturing of newsprint It is the fastest newsprint paper machine in the world and produces newsprint at reasonable costs with a high quality level offering best runnability. Components as the ModuleJet, NipcoFlex, TopDuoRun and the soft calenders are mainly responsible for the great success. Technique and technology of this high-performance paper machine are presented and first successes are described.
