Patterns of hormone secretion depends on a central biological clock extremely sensitive to light, especially artificial light at night. The authors of this article review the data supporting the role of light at night as an endocrine disruptor and call for further exploration of its possibly wide-ranging physiological and behavioral effects on humans and animals.
