摘要
Decision-making and problem-solving processes are seldom subjected to critical review. One explanation for this may be that managers often become complacent, accepting existing procedures as adequate for their purposes. The authors applied a qualitative research approach in an investigation of different models, strategies, and processes proposed for decision makers in the literature. In this study knowledge and experience obtained from different (mainly functional) areas in the management of technology are juxtaposed, compared, and analyzed. The results were used to develop a flexible framework to apply in real world situations. The eventual objective pursued is the development of an operational meta-structure for DPS (decision making and problem solving) in order to create a flexible methodology that can be adapted in an inter-active mode among decision makers. The need for this kind of structure is emphasized, and it can be seen as a necessary step towards a comprehensive knowledge management system for DPS.
