Tetragonal BaTiO3, perovskite-typed PbTiO3 and (Ba, Pb)TiO3 solid solution have been prepared from barium(lead) acetate and tetrabutyl titanate under milder hydrothermal condition. As compared with chlorion and nitrate ion, acetate ion would accelerate the formation of great-grained particles of BaTiO3 more considerably. The tetragonal BaTiO3 could be synthesized by adopting reactive titanium source, tetrabutyl titanate, in alkali aqueous solution at as low as 200 degrees C similar to 240 degrees C. The higher degree of fill would promote the production of tetragonal BaTiO3.
