摘要
Metasurface is widely used in the flexible control of electromagnetic wave and the improvement of antenna gain. In this paper, a quad-polarization reconfigurable antenna loaded with metasurface is designed. The antenna consists of a circular radiation patch with an adjustable feed network and a metasurface lens. By controlling the states of the diode, different feed positions can be selected, and the feed antenna generates linearly polarized waves of four different polarization directions (135 degrees, 90 degrees, 45 degrees, 0 degrees) referring to x-axis. The proposed metasurface lens can converts 135 degrees (45 degrees) linear polarization to right-hand circular polarization (left-hand circular polarization) and increases the feed antenna gain. At the same time, there is no polarization conversion occurr for 90 degrees and 0 degrees. Then the designed reconfigurable antenna can generate radiation patterns with different polarizations, including left-handed circular polarization (LHCP), right-handed circular polarization (RHCP), vertical polarization and horizontal polarization. Simulated results indicate that the antenna can achieve reconfigurable quad-polarization diversity features with excellent radiation performance, which are very attractive for wireless communications.
