From Mass Incarceration to Mass Supervision. The Silent Crisis of Probation in Romania

C This paper aims at calling attention to a crisis that goes silent in the penal field, more precisely in the field of community sanctions and measures or, as it mostly known, in the probation services. The paper will use Romania as a case example to illustrate how the penal power of state is using probation services in order to spread its control over new groups of people.
