Analysis of propagation loss of metallic photonic crystal waveguides

摘要
Metallic waveguides can be constructed with sidewalls consisting of metallic rods instead of sheets. The attenuation constants and bandwidths of such waveguides are calculated for a fixed cutoff frequency, while the radii of the metallic rods are varied. The propagation losses are found to decrease when the radii of the rods is increased. (C) 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
