摘要
Particle image velocimetry (PIV) techniques were used for the simultaneous measurement of solid phase velocity and concentration fields of suspensions agitated in a stirred tank geometry, This stud), demonstrates that PIV can resolve solid phase velocity fields for concentrated suspensions of large particles. Although PIV typically provides only velocity information, algorithms have been developed to derive solid concentration measurements from the captured PIV images, Solid glass beads of various sizes were suspended in a mixture of glycerin and water in a stirred tank Digital images of these suspensions were taken and particle concentration profiles were obtained from the images. Segregated regions within the suspension flow can be identified in both the suspended phase velocity and concentration fields.
