摘要：
Among chronic degenerative diseases, diabetes is the worldwide leading cause of death. In Mexico there is no exception, as there are a large number of people who suffer from it. The implemented treatments are both of pharmacological and non-pharmacological type. An alternative to these treatments is the use of plants as part of the traditional medicine; which have been used since ancient times to remedy various health problems. Accordingly, the purpose of this review is to disseminate the scientific work produced in the last decade to corroborate the use of plants as an alternative in the treatment of diabetes.
