摘要
In this paper we present a framework which simplifies the overall network dimensioning process in a multi-service: environment. We introduce the concept of a three-way: decomposition of the network by 1) geography; 2) switching and transmission layers; and 3) service class. We present a theoretical formulation of the decomposition approach and also propose a heuristic. The approach is completely general and is based on service specific networks which could be based on different packet and circuit technologies.
