摘要
On the basis of new statistics, the author analyzes the condition of the social sphere in Russia, compared to its general global level. The social ill-being syndrome has been identified: Russia's European face in terms of education, the place of an average person in terms of material well-being, Russia's Latin American face in terms of murders, and its African face in terms of life expectancy and the downward development of human potential. The author concludes that our country's strategic interests require that we stop making a fetish of economic growth and focus on social and environmental factors of development.
