摘要
Upon the analysis of the relation between technological diversification and technological convergence, this paper conducts an empirical study on technological diversification and technological convergence in Chinese Fuel Cell industry. We find that all of the top ten companies/universities adopt the "technology focusing" strategy.. By the empirical analysis of "patent input" and "patent output", we found that they show in the log function. The relation between the patent input and technological competitiveness is accord with the "marginal benefit diminishing" law. From technological convergence aspect, there is technological convergence between Chinese fuel cells industry and other industries; but there is no significant technological convergence within the industry, which is related with the technological diversified strategies of the companies. Therefore, companies should take more diversified technological strategies; on the one hand, it can improve the competitive advantage, on the other hand, it can also promote the technological diffusion and spillover within the industry, and finally promote technologies to produce convergence.
