摘要
The Special Issue 2013 of Computer Communications Journal is dedicated to reliable network-based services, that is services provided with a probability close to one, in spite of failures occurring in communications and computer networks, server systems, and in operations. Sebbah and Jaumard elaborate on how various levels of quality of recovery can be set in the context of a selected novel survivability mechanism known as p-structure. Cancela and co-researcher's work focuses on the effective estimation of the reliability with the usage of ingenious sampling in networks with a limited diameter. Csikor and co-researchers are seeking for new methods of reliability provisioning in IP. They focus on fast recovery, which has been recently standardized by IETF. The paper by Sahhaf et al approaches a novel method of IP recovery having this issue as a basic driver. Gonzalez and Helvik take into account the typical, but rarely modeled, situation when the failures in a network are correlated.
